I was brainstorming recently as to how to make the 5 element groups more achievable or at least reached for by first year level 9's instead of just doing cookie cutter routines that score 11.5 and occasionally a 12. Rings was my recent problem and I would like to propose that a giant "through" handstand position (B value) be considered for the giant swing element group. By doing this I believe that we would be guiding our younger athletes in the right direction from a routine standpoint at an earlier age. I believe that there would be more athletes attempting the skill if there was no handstand requirement. The way that it could be judged would be by arm bend angle such as the regular giant just with no hold required. What do you guys think? Dave
